On this historic day, 100 years since women were first able to cast their vote in a UK general election, Women’s Equality Network (WEN) Wales is celebrating by opening up their 100 Welsh Women List to nominations.
WEN Wales are asking members of the public and organisations to submit the inspirational welsh women who should be added to their 50 Contemporary and 50 Historical women already on the list.
The categories are:
- Arts
- Business
- Education
- Politics and Social Reform
- Science
- Sport
Catherine Fookes, Director of WEN Wales said:
‘We were delighted by the response to our 100 Welsh Women campaign and we always knew there were many more historical and contemporary women out there who’s lives and achievements deserve to be more widely recognised. So what better way to celebrate the Centenary of women voting for the first time than by opening up our list to nominations.’
To nominate, people should fill out this form indicating why the woman deserves to be on the list.
