A £2.5m investment is planned in upgrading and improving residential, day care and child and family settings run by Swansea Council.
The council’s cabinet is being asked to approve the spending on the front-line services at its next meeting.
It would see £1.2m invested during the next four years to improve the eight residential facilities run by adult social services.
A further £800k would be invested at the 17 locations providing day services that are a lifeline to so many people.
Cabinet members are also being asked to approve a £500k investment in the council’s early help hubs run by child and family services.
These are designed to ensure that children and families in Swansea have access to the right support at the right time from the right person regardless of age and location.
Council cabinet member for Care Services, Louise Gibbard, said: “Working with staff, residents and service users we are identifying essential up-grading and improvement works to ensure that we continue to provide safe, secure, accessible and friendly environments.
“The funding will be used for internal and external modifications to improve facilities to meet the needs of individuals and their families.
“Our residential homes play a crucial role in looking after individuals who often have very complex needs while our day services are a lifeline for so many.
“The Early Help Hubs have been a huge success in supporting families and ensuring that they can access all the services they require under one roof.
“This investment will help ensure that these quality front-line services continue to support both adults and children in surroundings that are suitable and well maintained.”
