£208,000 for local projects from Enhancing Pembrokeshire grants

More than £208,000 has been approved for a series of local projects in the latest round of Enhancing Pembrokeshire grants.

Pembrokeshire County Council’s Cabinet met on Monday, 1st November 1st to approve 11 applications totalling £208,672.

The Enhancing Pembrokeshire Grant uses funds raised via the Second Homes Council Tax Premium and has now supported more than 150 projects, totalling over £2.6m.

Among the projects successful on this occasion was Dinas Cross Memorial Playing Field which will receive £44,605 to replace and modernise play equipment.

A further £27,810 will go to Saundersfoot Sailing Club for the purchase of two new safety boats and associated safety equipment.

And Saundersfoot Bowls Club will receive £11,184 towards a new mower to keep the bowling green pristine for years to come.

The Council is now urging organisations and community groups to apply for the final round of Enhancing Pembrokeshire grants of the current political administration.

The deadline is 22nd November so the council is encouraging those who have thought about applying to do so prior to the closing date.

The Cabinet will meet in January next year to make its final decision.

Cllr Bob Kilmister, the Cabinet Member for Finance, said: “I would urge organisations and groups to get in touch and take this opportunity to improve and enhance the services they provide.

“This fund has been critical to so many projects and has helped to develop incredible and worthwhile initiatives.”
