£3m of grants paid to Bridgend businesses

Bridgend, South Wales UK

Bridgend County Borough Council has automatically processed a third phase of restriction grant payments totalling £3,000,000 to 750 businesses after further funding was made available to support hospitality, tourism, leisure and non-essential retail sectors.

These automatic payments will be paid into bank accounts on Wednesday 24 March for businesses that pay non-domestic rates and already received a payment for a restriction grant between December and March.

The cash grants are a top up to the Restrictions Business Fund via the Non-Domestic Rates (NDR) grants and will help businesses with their costs up to 31 March 2021.

Eligible business with a rateable value of £12,000 or less receive an extra £4,000 grant payment. Businesses with a rateable value of between £12,001 and £500,000 will receive £5,000.

The council has worked hard to ensure these grants are paid to businesses as soon as possible to assist with their immediate cash flow and help them to survive in these very challenging times.

More than £45million in funding has been paid out to businesses since the start of the pandemic and we continue to work quickly to make sure these grants are received in the shortest timeframe possible.

We kindly ask businesses not to contact the council to check on the progress of an application as it can delay the process.
