Wiseman’s Bridge rowing club have been praised for being the first rowing club in Pembrokeshire to be awarded the Disability Sport Wales insport Ribbon award.
The programme designed by Disability Sport Wales (DSW) supports clubs in developing inclusive provision, opportunity and practices.
The aim is to ensure that disabled people gain access to the level of participation and performance which they require.
Angela Miles, Disability Sport Development officer for Pembrokeshire County Council, said she was delighted to present the club with the award.
“The club have worked tirelessly over the past few years in gaining this award, undertaking a vigorous training and education programme for their coaches and volunteers,” she said.
Wiseman’s Bridge rowing club use the floating pontoon at Saundersfoot Sailing Club with whom they have a strong partnership, for safe access into the water.
The club are also working closely with the Tenderfoots disabled sports club that meet at the Regency Hall in Saundersfoot, by introducing rowing to the members with their indoor rowing equipment.
