Race organiser, Kidney Wales, has revealed the 2018 route for the annual Nation Radio Cardiff 10K, which will take place this year on September 2nd.

The route will be the flattest and fastest yet and is set to be the most fun race to date. The race is open to runners of all standards, and due to the appealing flat feature of the new route, the course is now even more accessible than ever, offering a great opportunity for novice and experienced runners alike to take part in a run that is far more likely to be enjoyable than gruelling.

The route will run through the heart of Cardiff’s city centre, starting at King Edward VII Avenue, before winding past several of Cardiff’s most iconic sites, including the Principality Stadium and Cardiff Castle.

Applications for the event are already open, with a total of 10,000 spaces available – one for every person affected by kidney disease across Wales.

Runners can choose to raise money for Kidney Wales or for another cause close to their heart. Hundreds of thousands of pounds has been raised over the years for race organisers, Kidney Wales, and other worthy causes.

[bs-quote quote=”We are thrilled to announce the 2018 route for the Nation Radio Cardiff 10K. This year’s race will be faster, flatter and more fun than ever before for runners of all abilities and ages across Wales and beyond. Taking part and raising money for our charity, really will make a difference; by raising vital funds you can actively improve the lives of kidney patients and their families in Wales.

We’d like to take the chance to encourage more people to sign up and join in this September; whether the London marathon inspired you to break out your unused trainers and get moving, or you’re a seasoned runner looking to smash your personal best, be sure to sign up today to avoid disappointment. General entries for the 2017 Cardiff 10K & 2K sold out in record times, and with the launch of our route for this year, we anticipate the same will happen this year, with entries already picking up speed.

The money raised by the event goes a long way in supporting our activities; for example, raising just £105 could help a young patient and their family attend a social event organised by Kidney Wales to give them a day of normality, whilst £625 could help fund a social worker at the Children’s Kidney Centre to give comfort and support to families as they learn to live and cope with their diagnosis.” style=”style-12″ align=”center” author_name=”Nic Clarke” author_job=”Director of Fundraising and Operations, Kidney Wales” author_avatar=”https://www.wales247.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/nic-clarke.jpg”][/bs-quote]

Kidney Wales is a charitable organisation whose history dates back over 50 years and focuses on delivering support for people battling the effects of kidney disease across the length and breadth of the nation.

Alongside the Nation Radio 10K, the charity presents numerous fundraising opportunities throughout the year, including nationwide Walk for Life events and the chance to represent the charity at multiple marathons and half-marathons across the UK.
