Major Sporting Events To Bet On In 2022

2022 is set to be a memorable year for sport, with some of the best tournaments and events lined up and ready to give sports fans a thrilling ride. And we do not doubt that this year’s sporting calendar will create some iconic moments to remember.

From the FIFA World Cup and NFL Super bowl to the Grand National, Wimbledon and even the Winter Olympics, we score the best sporting events to place a bet on in 2022.

February

Following a decent warm-up in January, which saw the likes of the tennis Australian Open and the World Masters Snooker, February will take sporting fans to some of the year’s main events.

Starting on the 4th is the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, nicely coinciding with the Chinese New Year to bring sports bettors good luck.

The 23rd Six Nations rugby tournament begins on the 5th, with defending champions Wales looking to retain their crown. While over on the other side of the Atlantic, the iconic Super Bowl also kicks off in LA on the 13th, with the Cincinnati Bengals, the Kansas City Chiefs, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Los Angeles Rams all in the running.

And if boxing is your sports bet of choice, then Amir Khan takes on Kell Brook on the 19th in a clash of the welterweight titans at the Manchester AO Arena.

March

As the Six Nations Rugby and the Winter Olympics continue into March, there’s plenty of alternative sporting action to catch your attention.Starting on the 4th is the Women’s Cricket World Cup, hosted in New Zealand and where the teams, including England, are hoping to upset tournament favourites, Australia.

UK’s biggest meet of the jump season, the Cheltenham Festival, also gets under starter’s orders from the 15th to the 18th, with 28 races to be run over the three days. Meanwhile, Formula One restarts on the 20th, with the Bahrain Grand Prix the first race of the 2022 season.

April

April sees the return of the Grand National, both in Scotland on the 1st/2nd and the iconic Aintree Grand National festival on the 7th-9th. After last year’s historic win by Rachel Blackmore, can her mount, Minella Times, make it twice in a row?

The US Masters 2022 tees off in Georgia between the 7th and 10th, while Formula One shifts continents for the Australian Grand Prix on the 10th. Meanwhile, taking April’s sporting highlights indoors, we have the start of the World Snooker Championship at the Crucible in Sheffield on the 16th (with the final set for May 1st).

May

If historic race meets are your thing, then check out the world-famous Kentucky Derby on the 7th, where Bob Baffert’s Corniche is the current favourite.

May also sees the much-anticipated FA Cup Final at Wembley on the 14th (with the UEFA Europa League Final just four days later) before sports fans turn their attention to two weeks of tennis from the 16th with the French Open.

After the Champions League Final on the 18th, why not round off a bumper sporting month with some trackside action on the 29th with the Monaco Grand Prix.

June

June’s official start of the summer sees some major sporting finals, including the NBA and the French Open, plus some essential golfing action from both the men’s and the women’s US Opens.

Down at the racetrack, you can perfect your betting form with the Epsom Derby (3rd-4th) and Royal Ascot(14th – 18th). Then round off the month with the ultimate summer sporting event, Wimbledon, serving up the courtside action from the 27th.

October

Despite the shorter days, October still manages to come up with the major sporting event goods, including no less than four Formula One Grand Prix races (Singapore, Japanese, US, and Mexico). The rescheduled London Marathon also takes place on the 2nd. And finally, New Zealand will play host to the Women’s Rugby World Cup from the 15th.

November and December
