A charity based in Crynant has received a £3,000 donation following nominations of support from Amazon employees at the company’s head office in London.
The donation was made to Crynant Community Association, a charity supporting the community through a community centre and community forest. The community centre offers projects, classes and groups including computer classes, crafting clubs and a guitar group. The community forest is used to encourage a healthier lifestyle for locals and acts as a user-friendly space for all.
The donation from Amazon will go towards improving the community bug garden and meadow and ensuring there is a supply of essential items such as birdfeed. The donation will also be used to purchase equipment in the community centre’s exercise lounge and extend disabled access to the nature walk.
Speaking on the donation, Andrea Ravnik, Amazon in the Community UK lead at Amazon, said:
“We’re pleased to make this donation to the Crynant Community Association. It’s important to have a space in which you can interact with members of the community and learn something new, and we hope this donation allows the charity to continue providing its services.”
Sean Keir, Chairman of Crynant Community Association added:
“We would like to thank Andrea and the team at Amazon for this donation. Donations like this allow us to enhance our community and provide support for those who need it.”
Crynant Community Association received the donation as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities in and around its operating locations across the UK.
