Cardiff Bay will be home to 13 hand-built brick Ocean creatures from 29th October to Sunday 6th November when the BRICKLIVE Ocean Show heads to Mermaid Quay.
Free to view, the display will feature an array of creatures of the deep, including a 10ft long Mako Shark, 7.5ft long Green Sea Turtle, Large Squid, Moray Eel, Octopus, Parrot Fish, Angler Fish, Nautilus, Baby Turtles, Coral Reef, Spider Crabs, Yellow Fin Tuna, Lobsters, Clown Triggerfish, Hermit Crabs, Small Jellyfish, Mackerel, Starfish, and Tropical Fish.
The show has been devised to entertain whilst educating children and families about the incredible diversity of life in the Earth’s oceans, and about the major environmental issues that threaten their existence. The show aims to bring important sea life and habitat facts and statistics to life in a fun and engaging environment.
Whilst the Ocean Show is in residence, Mermaid Quay will be running a trail where participants have the chance of winning an Aquabus 45-minute cruise voucher for a family four. There will also be a colouring competition where two £10 gift cards for Cadwaladers are up for grabs.
BRICKLIVE’s The Ocean Show heads to Mermaid Quay following the success of previous displays at Mermaid Quay including Fantasy Kingdom, the Great Brick Safari, Santa’s Sleigh and Big Cats.
Previous displays at Mermaid Quay attracted many thousands of visitors and it’s anticipated that the BRICKLIVE Ocean Show will be equally as popular with both children and adults alike.
Becky Jones, Marketing Manager at Mermaid Quay, said: “Our BRICKLIVE displays are always a huge hit and we’re confident that The Ocean Show will be equally as popular. Visitors to the Bay will be able to let their imaginations run wild as creatures of the deep come to life on land, whilst providing a great opportunity to learn more about the importance of protecting our oceans.”
