Denbighshire Leisure Ltd is lighting up attractions in red from 3rd to 9th of October in support of the ‘Go Red for Dyslexia’ campaign.
Ruthin Craft Centre, Rhyl Sky Tower, Rhyl Pavilion Theatre, 1891 Restaurant and Bar, the Events Arena waterfall and the Denbighshire coastal bus shelters will all be lit up on the first week of October in support of the campaign.
Go Red for Dyslexia is a global campaign that aims to raise awareness and end the stigma around dyslexia, a common condition that causes difficulties with reading, writing and spelling.
This year, the Go Red for Dyslexia campaign is focusing on inclusivity; celebrating and helping the people who are building the foundations for a better and more accessible tomorrow. Around ten percent of the world’s population are believed to be dyslexic, however it is often poorly understood as each person is unique and therefore so is everyone’s experience of dyslexia, ranging from mild to severe.
Jamie Groves, Managing Director of Denbighshire Leisure Ltd said “We’re lighting up attractions to show our support those living with dyslexia and as a result may have been impacted significantly during their education, in their workplace and in everyday life. The ‘Go Red’ community are committed to raising the profile of dyslexia in every community; promoting a greater understanding of dyslexia and literacy differences worldwide.
“We hope that by lighting up attractions in red this October that we will help in some way by encouraging people to ask the questions and as a result raise awareness of this fantastic campaign that touches so many lives.”
