Swansea’s biggest annual firework display is back with a bang

Here's everything you need to know about Swansea's annual free fireworks display on November 5

The 2021 Swansea Bay Fireworks Display organised by Swansea Council.

Thousands of residents, families and students are expected to watch the spectacular display over Swansea Bay on Saturday, November 5, at 7pm.

For the first time, the display will be offshore on a barge in the sea, illuminating the waters of the bay as the fireworks burst in the sky.

The evening kicks off at 6pm with pre-show entertainment including a fire show, glow entertainers and walkabout acts. Food vendors will also be open from 6pm.

Swansea Council cabinet member Robert Francis-Davies said: “We deliver great events for the people of Swansea to enjoy – and this is a key event in our annual programme.

“It’s safe and, because of the challenge on household budgets this year, we’ve decided to make it a free event once again.

“Last November’s free show over the bay attracted around 30,000 spectators and we know that it’ll be very popular again this year. It’s an outdoor event and there’s plenty of room to spread out along the Prom so make sure that you wrap up warm and dress according to the weather!”

To ensure spectator safety there’ll road closures from 5-9pm on Oystermouth Road/Mumbles Road from Glamorgan Street to Brynmill Lane – and on Pantycelyn Road between Dyfed Avenue and Townhill Road.

The display will be visible around the bay, weather permitting. The best views will be from the Prom and the beach between the Civic Centre and Brynmill Lane.

The event is being delivered by the council and supported by Nathaniel Cars and Gower College Swansea.
