Caerphilly County Borough Council has this week launched its ‘Care in Caerphilly’ campaign across different platforms to encourage individuals into a career in care. The campaign is also designed to celebrate the hardworking care staff who make a difference to the lives of residents every day.
The campaign aims to shift perspectives on adult care as well as inspiring compassionate people to consider a caring role. Care in Caerphilly will underline the rewarding nature of care and showcase Caerphilly as a great place to work.
It is estimated that domiciliary care and adults residential care workers make up the highest number of vacancies in adult social care in Wales. Care in Caerphilly shows that qualifications are not required for a caring role, it is about your life experiences and your ability to be kind and compassionate.
Cllr. Elaine Forehead, cabinet member for social care, commented “Care in Caerphilly is about celebrating the wonderful people who look after our most vulnerable residents, and I’d like to thank each of our carers who directly improve lives every day.
It has never been more crucial to expand our workforce in this sector and ensure that we look after those who can no longer look after themselves. With this campaign we want to challenge misconceptions around care and support residents in building a career that works for them.
If you are a considerate person looking to do something extremely rewarding and make a difference to lives every day, you could be the person we are looking for.”
