The new Hope House children’s hospice shop in Wrexham will be opening this month with the charity asking for potential volunteers and or those with donations to come forward.

The new shop at Island Green will officially open on Saturday 21st January at 10am, with the old shop on Charles Street closing.

There will be some special guests to open the shop and there will be goodie bags and balloons handed out, along with a mystery prize for the shop’s 100th customer.

Shop manager Becky Hemmings said:  “We are delighted to be able to open our Island Green shop in Wrexham.

“We have been busy for a little while cleaning, painting, arranging shelving and making the shop sparkle for our customers.

“We are very excited to open and are looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and also making new friends.”

Ahead of the shop opening, Becky is asking that if anyone has any donations they can take them to the new shop, while volunteers are also needed to help out.

“We’d love to hear from anyone who wants to join and volunteer with us,” she said. “If you have any time that you can give us, then we would love to welcome you to come and have a chat with us here at the shop.”

Angela Whelan, Head of Retail, said: “We are delighted to be able to open our new Wrexham shop at Island Green.

“We receive generous support from people in the area which enables us to provide care for local children and families at our hospices.

“Our shops play a vital role in generating much-needed funds to support families in our community; support that is more important than ever during these difficult times.

“I have no doubt that the people of Wrexham will continue to support the shop’s success as customers, volunteers and donors.”

If you would like to volunteer then please either pop into the Island Green shop or contact [email protected] or call Di Murr on 01691 679679.
