Neath Port Talbot launches ‘Let’s Talk’ campaign to get views on area

Neath Port Talbot Council is stepping up its efforts to get people’s views on what matters most to them so their feedback can be used to ensure the council’s future planning and priority setting aligns with what is needed and will help shape its decision making at what is a challenging time.

Neath Port Talbot Council Leader, Cllr Steve Hunt, explained : “Back in 2021 we ran a ‘Let’s Talk’ campaign to help us understand how the pandemic had impacted on different parts of our county borough and what mattered most to local people then, and in the future.

“Almost 1,800 people living or working here engaged with us as part of Let’s Talk.

“Capturing people’s views and opinions at a very early stage in our planning helped us develop our Corporate Plan, ‘Recover, Reset, Renew’, which we published in 2022. This enabled us to re-shape our well-being objectives and actions to deliver these based on what mattered locally across our communities.

“But don’t worry if you missed out on giving your views during Let’s Talk. That campaign was just the start and now we’re launching another – Let’s Keep Talking.

“It means we are continuing that important conversation with those who live and work in Neath Port Talbot.

“People’s views, concerns and ideas are very important to us as they can help shape what the council does in the future.

“Our resources are not unlimited, so we can’t promise to do everything. But we can promise to listen, and to take your priorities into account in our planning. So, let’s keep talking and then together we can help NPT residents live good lives.

“By completing this survey, you’ll help us better understand how you want Neath Port Talbot to look now and in the future.”
