Alacrity Foundation, a leading institution in mentoring and training graduate entrepreneurs to create hi-tech companies, has appointed Hannah Williams as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The appointment comes as the not-for-profit organisation looks to build on its success of the last 10 years and create the next generation of digital entrepreneurs based in Wales.
Williams brings over a decade of experience in entrepreneurship and finance across various roles, including her previous position as Chief Financial Officer at Tiny Rebel.
Simon Gibson, Chairman of Alacrity Foundation, said: “I am thrilled Hannah has accepted the post of Chief Executive with the Alacrity Foundation. She brings with her proven entrepreneurial experience and professional expertise as an accountant. Her passion and enthusiasm are infectious, and I look forward to seeing her lead Alacrity to a new level.”
Hannah Williams, CEO of Alacrity, said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be given the opportunity to lead Alacrity on its next phase of growth. Alacrity is an institution that I have admired for many years and the opportunity to join such an innovative establishment was one I wouldn’t turn down. Our goal is to be a pillar of the business and educational community within South Wales and I’m excited to collaborate with the brilliant minds at Alacrity to explore new and innovative strategies.”
As she was the previous CFO and part of Tiny Rebel from its inception, Williams wants to pass on all the learning throughout her tenure to the entrepreneurs who succeed in Alacrity’s programme. She added, “Starting a business is a minefield, especially when trying to obtain funding or understanding start-up costs and capital. Having been through the process and knowing the pitfalls, I want to support the individuals in their journeys throughout each stage – I’m excited to be in a position to open doors to alternative contacts that are able to help them.”
As Hannah takes the helm at Alacrity, exciting initiatives are on the horizon. She added, “I’m a huge believer in continuous development, self-reflection, and the power of networking. I believe that nurturing meaningful connections is indispensable to personal and professional growth.” Beyond the graduates in their programme, Alacrity is set to broaden its impact by launching “THE BUSINESS SOCIAL,” a monthly event featuring inspiring speakers and attendees. This initiative is designed to support entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey, from budding entrepreneurs to established businesses looking to expand their knowledge and network base.
