The popular Spooks in the City event makes a welcome return on Saturday, October 28.
This free annual event forms part of Swansea Council’s ongoing efforts, wherever possible, to offer families high quality fun days which are either free or low cost.
This year the spooktastic fun day has a new city centre location of St David’s Place near the former Iceland store and just across the Copr Bay bridge from Swansea Arena.
The day promises to be ghoulish good fun with Halloween-themed entertainment, characters and live shows from local dance schools.
Cabinet Member Robert Francis-Davies said: “The activities will have a family-friendly feel and will be free – adding a boost to the financial challenges that so many people are currently encountering – and will help generate footfall to provide a boost for local traders.
“This is one of a number of events planned for the city centre in the build-up to Christmas as we look to make it a place that people want to visit, stay and enjoy.”
Taking place from 11am to 4pm on October 28, the spooky fun day will also feature:
- A special movie-inspired performance to open Spooks in the City 2023 at 11am
- Spooky stories next to the Swansea Bay Rider land train which will be parked up and will have its very own Halloween makeover.
- Themed live entertainment
- Themed fun and games
- Free fun rides
- A chance to learn a very popular and well-known dance at 2.30pm with a mass performance to follow at 3pm
