Tŷ Gobaith announced as Ambition North Wales charity

Ambition North Wales has announced that their chosen charity for this year is the children’s hospice, Tŷ Gobaith.
Eager to support the work and dedication of the hospice team with its fundraising activities, the collaboration reflects Ambition North Wales’s commitment to contribute, not only to the economic well-being of the region, but also to the welfare of its community.
Alwen Williams, Portfolio Director at Ambition North Wales said: “We wanted to recognise the tireless efforts of Tŷ Gobaith staff and volunteers as they deliver vital services to children facing extraordinary challenges. By doing so I hope we can make a difference to the lives of these families and help Tŷ Gobaith raise awareness of the amazing work they do.”
As the designated charity, Tŷ Gobaith will receive support from the fundraising activities of Ambition North Wales staff, including this autumn’s Dark Runs at Penrhyn Castle, RSPB Conwy and Chirk Castle. Arranged by Tŷ Gobaith itself, the family-friendly 5k events encourages people to run or walk the distance as darkness falls, to support the hospice.
Enthusiastic about the partnership and the benefits it will bring to the children and families, Andy Everley of Tŷ Gobaith said: “We are very grateful to Ambition North Wales and look forward to our partnership with them over the next 12 months. Their support will help us to ensure that those facing life-limiting conditions receive the care, comfort, and support they need.”
Hope House opened the doors of its first hospice in 1993 as only the tenth children’s hospice in the world, today it supports 750 families. Its second hospice, Tŷ Gobaith opened in Conwy in 2004 – providing services for families in North Wales.
