A range of Swansea business stars are helping to raise the profile of the area by appearing in tourism videos.
Local heroes such as Anthony Williams, of city centre attraction Plantasia, and Bethan Matthews, of Mumbles’ The Lighthouse Bar & Kitchen, appear in short films promoting the area.
Others involved in the videos – commissioned by the council’s tourism team – include Sian and Andrew Brookes, of Gower Gin.
They all talk about why they love to live and work in their “happy place” – Swansea Bay, Mumbles and Gower.
The council has also produced a range of Swansea Bay Trails videos, promoting topics such as the area’s arts and culture, heritage, food and drink, wellbeing and watersports.
Tourism businesses featured include attractions, restaurants, accommodation suppliers, activity providers and entertainment venues.
Last year the videos were seen by more than a million social media users, helping boost to value of the sector locally to more than £500m.
Council cabinet member Robert Francis-Davies said: “Swansea people love giving visitors a warm welcome – that’s why we wanted to feature them in some of our promotional videos. A huge thank you to all of our partners who have worked with us on these films!”
