Commercial law firm Darwin Gray has welcomed new recruits to its Bangor office, as part of a firm-wide growth strategy. The expansion also underpins the firm’s commitment to its Welsh language capabilities, with increased bilingual capabilities across all of its services.
Since opening its doors in 2022, Darwin Gray’s Bangor office, based in Parc Menai, has welcomed new team members across the firm. The start of 2024 welcomed the arrival of Associates Rhodri Morgan, who joins the firm’s quickly expanding Corporate and Commercial team, and Elliw Jones, whose expertise spans both Commercial Property and Wills and Probate.
Starting his career as a Solicitor in Private Practice, Rhodri gained wide-ranging experience working on commercial matters within Local Authority in Wales and London. Rhodri also brings with him a wealth of change management expertise, having spent a number of years at Ernst & Young LLP supporting clients undertaking large organisational change and transformation programmes in the UK, US and Hong Kong.
Elliw’s arrival further increases the firm’s Welsh language capabilities in their award-winning Commercial Property team, supporting both public and private sector clients, agents and developers. With her broad range of expertise, Elliw will also be supporting Darwin Gray’s Wills and Probate offering, advising clients on wills and trusts, estate administration and inheritance tax planning.
The new arrivals reflect Darwin Gray’s overall growth trajectory, with the firm experiencing a remarkable 40% increase in numbers over the past 18 months both in Bangor and in its Cardiff head office. This growth is not only marked by an increase in talent acquisition but also by the firm’s strategic investments in office space and resources.
Commenting on the expansion, Darwin Gray’s Managing Partner, Fflur Jones said: “As a proud Welsh business, we are pleased to continue strengthening our roots in north Wales, building on our existing client base there that we have continued to nurture over many years. The firm has grown exponentially over the past year or so.”
Fflur concluded: “We are passionate about showcasing and supporting the fantastic businesses and organisations that operate in north Wales. As we grow our presence in the area, we are pleased also to host a first-of-its-kind Governance conference, which will take place in Penygroes on 21 May, in partnership with Adra Housing Association and Menter a Busnes.”
