Two men and one woman from the Neath and Swansea areas have been jailed for being concerned in the supply of cocaine.
Lisa Amass, 42, Ryan Huxtable, 47, and 50-year-old Thomas Norman have been sentenced to four years, four years and four-and-a-half years in prison respectively.
Officers forced entry to Huxtable’s Briton Ferry address following a report that he was being ‘cuckooed’ – used to describe when a vulnerable person’s home is used by an organised criminal group (OCG) as their base of operations.
However, at interview it became clear that his account did not support the cuckooing allegation, and that his communications with Thomas Norman and other members of the OCG suggested a far more mutually beneficial relationship than was previously alleged.
Detective Sergeant Thomas Richardson said:
“This sentence means that three individuals who were a danger not only to themselves but to their wider community due to their involvement in the supply of Class A drugs are now off the streets.
“We are delighted to see that all three are now no longer able to pose a danger to the public.
“It is only a matter of time until Organised Crime Groups such as these are caught and we will work tirelessly, alongside our local police forces and law enforcement agencies across the UK, to ensure that they are.
“Drugs cause endless misery within our communities, and we urge anyone who suspects illegal drug activity in their community to come forward and tell us what they know.”
