Wales Airshow soars to new heights in Swansea

The Wales Airshow in Swansea had an exceptional weekend, drawing in hundreds of thousands of attendees to enjoy the country’s largest free outdoor event.

Airshow 2024 Highlights

The two-day event featured spectacular aerial displays from The Red Arrows, the RAF Typhoon, and numerous other performers, captivating visitors from across the UK.

Organised by the council, the event attracted massive crowds who enjoyed a variety of interactive displays, activities, and live entertainment both on the ground and in the skies.

This year introduced a Veterans’ Village to honor all ex-Service personnel, celebrating their significant contributions to the UK. The airshow also marked Wales Armed Forces Day, featuring a stage ceremony and entertainment on Saturday. An original song, penned by a group of veterans, debuted publicly at the event.

Cabinet member Robert Francis-Davies praised the efforts of council staff, emergency services, show sponsors, and other partners who contributed to making the event a premier showcase for the city.

This year’s airshow was sponsored by Aerodyne, Day’s Rental, First Cymru, FRF DS Swansea, FRF Toyota, Great Western Railway, Greatest Hits Radio, Lidl, Radnor Hills, Royal British Legion, Transport for Wales, and Travel House.

Next year’s Wales Airshow is scheduled for July 5 and 6.

Swansea continues to host top-quality events this year, having recently welcomed the World Triathlon Para Series Swansea on June 22. Upcoming highlights include the return of IRONMAN 70.3 Swansea on July 14, and three days of music in Singleton Park from July 18-20.
