    Fine art team’s mission to discover treasures at Machynlleth

    Maryanne Lineker-Mobberley and Alexander Clement from Halls Fine Art will be visiting Machynlleth later this month

    Ever wondered how much a family heirloom is worth or whether items stored away in your loft or cupboard have any value?

    Could a piece of jewellery or silver, a painting, an example of Asian pottery, an item of militaria, an old book, a stamp album or a coin collection that have been in the family for generations, be a hidden gem?

    The answers to all these questions and more will be available when specialists from Halls Fine Art, a leading regional fine art auction house based in Shrewsbury, holds an antiques valuation event in Machynlleth on Friday, August 30, from 10am to 2pm.

    Maryanne Lineker-Mobberley, silver, jewellery and bijouterie specialist, will be joined by Alexander Clement, watches, clocks and Asian art specialist, at the event to be held at St Peter’s Church, Machynlleth.

    The specialists will value items for £2 each, with all proceeds going towards the upkeep of St Peter’s Church. Refreshments and bric-a-brac tables will be available during the event.

    Church warden Rachal Sear said: “We have enjoyed past antiques valuation events held by Halls Fine Art here in Machynlleth and are looking forward to welcoming the specialists to the church again on August 30.

    “We hope the people of Machynlleth and surrounding area will take this opportunity to have their antiques valued and it would be great to find something very valuable on the day.”

    Maryanne Lineker-Mobberley said: “It has been a few years since we last held a valuation event in Machynlleth and can’t wait to see what’s in store for us. We have discovered a range of valuable items in this area and along the Mid Wales coast in the past year.”

    Anyone wishing to have collections or large antiques valued at any of the events may take along photographs to show the specialists, who may arrange a follow up home visit.
