Uber Eats is today announcing that its industry-renowned Restaurant of the Year Awards are back for 2024, to spotlight and champion small restaurant businesses across the UK for the third year in a row.

This year, Uber Eats is going bigger than ever, as chef, television and radio broadcaster Andi Oliver joins the esteemed judging panel. Andi is set to bring her warmth and expertise to this year’s panel and infuse the Awards with her love of food, community and connection.

What’s more, Uber Eats is giving local high-street favourites more representation by introducing even more regions for the public to vote from, including Yorkshire, Anglia, and the West and East Midlands.

    The shortlist for Wales includes:

    1. The Dough Thrower
    2. ANSH
    3. Poutine Box
    4. The Pizza Boyz
    5. Smokin’ Griddle
    6. Bab Haus Mex
    7. Wingstack
    8. Haystack Cafe
    9. Fowl & Fury
    10. Tuk Tuk
    Haystack

Over 40 cuisine types are represented within the 130 restaurants that will be going head-to-head for the £100,000 grand prize in November. But first, food lovers across the UK and Ireland can visit ubereatsawards.com to vote for their favourite shortlisted restaurants until 4th October.

Finalists will then be invited to create their hero dish for the panel of expert judges, which will decide who walks away with £100,000 to invest in their business. To show their commitment to the industry, Uber Eats is also offering all regional winners a £5,000 prize alongside a support package to help accelerate their businesses’ growth.

Returning judges, Uber Eats General Manager Matthew Price, and Be Inclusive Hospitality CEO Lorraine Copes will make up the esteemed panel. Joined by Andi Oliver, street food influencer Kieran Monlouis (@foodyfella) and 2023 Restaurant of the Year award winner Josh Kleiner from Sandwich Sandwich.

Sandwich Sandwich beat over 12,000 restaurants last year to take home the grand prize. Since then, the family-run eatery has launched its first London location, racking up millions of clicks online, and garnering attention from the likes of Tyson Fury and Gordon Ramsey.

Matthew Price, General Manager UK, Ireland and Northern Europe at Uber Eats said “We created the Restaurant of the Year Awards to spotlight the very best independent restaurants across the UK and Ireland. Small businesses like these make up a huge part of Uber Eats and we want to help every one of them thrive because Uber Eats only succeeds when our restaurant partners succeed.”

Andi Oliver, chef, television and radio broadcaster, said: “I am honoured to work with Uber Eats for their prestigious Restaurant of the Year Awards. As we embark on this journey of discovery with some of the UK and Ireland’s top chefs, let us celebrate the passion, skill, and dedication that make each independent restaurant a culinary haven.”
