    Finalists Announced for Caerphilly Sport Awards 2024

    Sport Caerphilly is excited to announce the finalists for the highly anticipated Caerphilly Sport Awards 2024. The event, which celebrates the exceptional contributions of local coaches, athletes, volunteers, and clubs, will take place at Bryn Meadows Hotel and Spa on Friday 8th November.

    The awards honour the dedication and achievements of individuals and groups who have significantly contributed to the development of sport across the borough. The finalists, selected across various categories, represent the very best of our sporting community.

    Below are the finalists for each category:

    Community Coach of the Year
    This award recognises coaches who have made a significant impact in their community, encouraging participation and development in sport at all levels.

    • Tara Edwards

    Inclusive Coach of the Year
    This category honours coaches who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to making sport accessible and inclusive for all, particularly those with disabilities or additional needs.

    • Lee Meyrick
    • Rhiannon Hughes

    Lifetime Achievement to Sport
    Recognising individuals who have dedicated many years of service to sport, this award celebrates lifetime contributions to the development and success of sport within Caerphilly.

    • Hillary & Ken Goodyear

    Volunteer of the Year
    This award is for those who have made an exceptional voluntary contribution to sport, giving up their time to support athletes, clubs, and events in the community.

    Young Volunteer of the Year (Under 18)
    Recognising the commitment and passion of young volunteers under the age of 18, this award celebrates those who contribute to the growth and success of sport in the community.

    Club of the Year
