Cadwaladers has seven stores across Wales with one at Trentham Gardens, Stoke on Trent.

Cadwaladers is most famous for its ‘secret recipe’ vanilla ice cream which was originally developed in 1927 at its Criccieth store by Hannah Cadwalader.

Cadwaladers vanilla ice cream has such a unique taste that it continues to bring its customers back time after time. The Company now sell a large range of ice cream flavours and a wide range of sundaes, with a new range also suitable for its vegan and dairy and gluten intolerant customers. Together with its range of speciality teas and superb specially blended coffee, Cadwaladers sell delicious cakes and a wide food offering for breakfast, brunch, lunch and all-day dining.

Cadwaladers is now owned by Diane Brierley, who bought the Company in 2015. Without growing the number of stores, since the 2015 acquisition, the company has grown its turnover by 46%, it now holds level 5 in Food Safety standards at all its stores and has recently been accredited with the Gold standard in Investors in People.

Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results. Underpinning the Standard is the Investors in People framework, reflecting the latest workplace trends, essential skills and effective structures required to outperform in any industry. Working with clients across the globe, Investors in People enables organisations to benchmark against the best in the business on an international scale.

Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said:

“We’d like to congratulate Cadwaladers. Investors in People accreditation is the sign of a great employer, and an organisation committed to achieving success by realising the potential of their people. Cadwaladers should be extremely proud of their achievement.”

    Diane Brierley

Commenting on the award, Diane Brierley, the owner and CEO said “We are so proud of our Management Team and all our staff in achieving the Gold Investor in People accreditation. We believe that by ensuring that our people understand how much they are valued, and by emphasising the importance of recognition and reward, we have as a business been able to improve standards whilst at the same time growing turnover.”

Cadwaladers can be found at the following locations: Criccieth, Gwynedd / Porthmadog, Gwynedd / Betws-Y-Coed, Conwy / Mermaid Quay, Cardiff Bay / Red Dragon Centre, Cardiff / Barry Island, Barry / Tenby, Pembrokeshire / Trentham Gardens, Stoke-on-Trent.
