Cardiff Bus announces Monster Jam diversions

Cardiff Bus is alerting customers to diversions to services on Saturday 19 May due to Monster Jam’s return to the city.

The adrenaline-fuelled annual event, featuring extreme stunts and showcasing the talents of championship drivers across the dirt tracks, returns to the Principality Stadium this weekend.

Road closures will take place across the city centre during the day, diverting bus routes from 12.30pm to 9pm.

Services 1 and 2 will begin and end at the terminal point on Canal Street, and will not serve the rear of Central Railway Station (Stop JM & JN) from the time roads are closed.

Services 8, 9, 9A, 13 to Cardiff Bay or Sports Village, 54 to Channel View, and X45 towards Cardiff Bay Retail Park will begin and end at the terminal point on Canal Street.

The Baycar service 6 will run between City Centre (Customhouse Street – JG) and Cardiff Bay only and will not serve the city centre loop or rear of Central Railway Station (stop JM).

Services 8, 9 and 9A to Heath Hospital, along with 44, 45,45B, 49, 50, 51, 52, 57, 58, 61 to Pengam Green, and the X45 towards St Mellons will begin and end at the terminal point on Churchill Way.

The 13 to Drope, 15, 17, 18, 25, 61 to Pentrebane, 63, 63A, 64, 65, 66, 95 to Barry, 95A, 95B, 95C, 96, 96A and X91 will begin and end at the terminal point on Tudor Street.

Services 21, 23, 24, 27, 28, 28A, 28B, 30, 35, 53, 54 to Cyncoed, 86, and the 95 to Heath Hospital will start and end at the terminal point on Greyfriars Road.

The 92, 92B, 93, 94 and 94B will start and end at the terminal point on Customhouse street until 7pm, at which point it will run from Tudor Street until the end of road closure.

Service X59 will start and end on Dumfries Place HT all day.

Customers are advised to check Cardiff Bus’ website where a full list of diversions are available.

“Large scale events and road closures inevitably cause diversions to our services in the city centre and we apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause our customers.
