Cineworld, the UK’s leading cinema chain, has revealed that Cineworld Newport Spytty Park, located at Newport Retail Park, has undergone a major transformation to enhance the cinema and open three new exclusive premium formats, delivering the most immersive cinema in Wales.
The state-of-the-art refurbishment was officially completed on Wednesday 6th November with the unveiling of all 13 screens including 10 cutting-edge standard screens and the addition of premium formats 4DX, ScreenX and Superscreen.

The introduction of 4DX, ScreenX and Superscreen will mark a landmark moment in the area. Not only will Newport Spytty Park be the first cinema in Wales to offer all three premium formats, it will also debut Wales’ first ever ScreenX, bringing Cineworld’s exclusive premium formats to new audiences in Newport and beyond for even more choice.
4DX is an extreme sensory cinema experience which stimulates all five senses – with stimulating effects like water, wind and scent, and high-tech motion seats enhancing every moment on screen. ScreenX is the world’s first multi-projection cinema technology that extends the cinema screen to the side auditorium walls, creating a 270-degree movie viewing experience that surrounds the audience in their seat. Superscreen’s powerful multidimensional Dolby Atmos speakers and state-of-the-art projection makes every second a beauty to behold. The Superscreen in Cineworld Newport Spytty Park will be the second laser projector of its kind to arrive in Wales.
As well as new premium formats, the cinema’s foyer has undergone a major transformation, with a newly improved Starbucks already opened.
Upcoming releases include The Aeronauts releasing in 4DX and Superscreen, Le Mans 66 releasing in all premium formats from 15th November, and Frozen 2 arriving in 4DX and Superscreen 22nd November.
Cineworld Unlimited Card holders can also enjoy access to an unlimited number of films per month for less than the price of two new-release peak time tickets, at just £18.40 per month. At Cineworld Newport Spytty Park, Cineworld Unlimited customers will be able to enjoy 4DX from only £4.70, ScreenX from £3 and Superscreen from £2.50 (2D ticket price).
