Nando’s has opened a further 54 restaurants across the UK and Ireland, taking the number of locations to almost 100.
There’s good news if you live in Cardiff, as Nando’s in the Brewery Quarter is open for both delivery and collection. According to the Nando’s website, the St David’s 2 restaurant is open for deliveries only.
Many businesses across the food industry are starting to fire up their kitchens once more and opening their doors with additional health and safety precautions.
The chicken chain has introduced a number of safety measures for staff and customers, including daily briefings with staff before they start work, reduced the number of people working, along with reduced opening hours.
When you arrive at Cardiff’s Brewery Quarter, you are met by a security guard on the outer doors, where you have to show your order confirmation before being allowed in. If there is more than one of you collecting, they will have to wait outside on Caroline Street. Nando’s Cardiff is open for delivery and collections, but not walk ins.
A one-way system has been introduced and a number of labels have been placed on the floors to guide customers and delivery drivers to the restaurant when you’re inside. When we arrived, it was pleasantly quiet and not the queues of hundreds that we thought there might have been.
Staff are on-hand to guide you through the simple but effective process of collecting your order. There is plenty of hand gel available if you need it, although it is a contactless experience.
When your order is ready, you are called up to the ‘handover table’. You will be asked if you’d like any additional sauces or cutlery. Definitely opt for the sauces! Win win!
What can you order?
The Peri-Peri people are offering a limited menu including starters, popular chicken dishes, burgers, pittas and wraps. If you’re feeling hungry, you can even order sharing platters.
Spicy Rice was out of stock when we ordered, but peri-salted fries, garlic bread, creamy mash and more is all available. We decided to go with the butterfly chicken and peri fries.
Overall, we were really happy with the entire process. I’m not sure how the Nando’s system would cope with an influx of orders, but certainly, it seemed to be a well-oiled machine when we were there and the whole experience put our minds at rest when venturing out for food.
How to order from Cardiff Nando’s
Nando’s is not accepting walk in or phone orders to keep contact with customers at a minimum, but orders can be placed online in advance on the links below. They will also only be accepting contactless payments too.
Despite collection slots available from 12pm – 8.55pm, they fill up quickly and we went to order on Friday evening, we were unable to. So, if today is the day you fancy a cheeky Nando’s, order without delay or you might have to wait a little bit longer.
If you order for collection, you will receive an email to say your order has been sent to the restaurant and that I has been accepted. As mentioned above, you’ll need to take your confirmation order email with you to show the man on the door.
