CPS Group UK, specialists in recruiting technology roles, is looking for new hires to add to its central Cardiff office. The business is looking for recruiters with various levels of experience and would like to make 10 new hires over the next 6 months.
At the beginning of the lockdown, the Directors at CPS Group made a commitment to all staff that they would not place anyone on furlough or make any redundancies. The organisation was able to make this promise following an excellent performance revealed in March 2020, which showed it had achieved its best ever month, quarter and best ever financial year in its 18-year history.
Managing Director and Founder of the business, Jason Grandin, said, “After our team helped us to achieve such brilliant success shortly before the pandemic hit, we agreed it would be a real disservice to them to let anyone go. Instead, we introduced other measures to reduce our outgoings, such as the Directors taking a temporary pay cut, so that we could all return together as a team.
“It’s not been easy for anyone to stay motivated, but by offering our employees job security, I hope we’ve been able to make the lockdown a bit easier. I’m immensely proud of the way they have all adapted, and I know we are now well prepared for when the upturn hits.”
Never a business to halt progress, CPS Group actually hired a new consultant just days before the UK was forced into lockdown. Rebecca Quirk said, “I was beginning to get incredibly nervous about my position, having just started a new job as the pandemic hit, and when the Jobs Retention Scheme was announced I knew I would be ineligible for furlough.
“Everyone at CPS has been so incredibly welcoming. Both myself and everyone else in the business were put into a completely new situation and I’m so pleased with the way we’ve been able to navigate it together. I’d encourage anyone looking for a new opportunity to apply at CPS Group.”
CPS Group’s hiring announcement comes as it suggested that those in Wales could be “more exposed” to an economic crisis. Mr Grandin added, “There are real challenges ahead for businesses, with the twin threat of coronavirus and Brexit on the horizon. We are committed to doing everything we can to get people back into work, whether in our organisation or through our role as recruiters.”
