A new Welsh gin bar is opening in Cardiff

Gin Ne Sais Quoi will serve up its premium range of classic and signature cocktails, alongside a selection of spirits and liqueurs, including over 80 different brands of gin!

Gin Ne Sais Quoi

Welsh bar Gin Ne Sais Quoi will join St David’s Dewi Sant Cardiff this summer in a prominent city centre landmark.

The specialist gin and cocktail bar will be located within the ground floor of Cardiff Central Library on The Hayes, overlooking Mill Lane. As part of a £3.1m refurbishment, Gin Ne Sais Quoi will open a 6,800 sq ft space, split over two floors, bringing together two units formerly occupied by Carluccio’s and Gourmet Burger Kitchen. Lavishly decorated in the brand’s signature colour palette, and featuring a spacious bar and dining area, the bar will offer evening entertainment including live music.

Set to open later this summer, Gin Ne Sais Quoi will serve up its premium range of classic and signature cocktails, alongside its extensive selection of spirits and liqueurs, including over 80 different brands of gin. The food on offer will be of a contemporary cuisine which coincides with the lavish décor. The new St David’s bar is a second location for the South Wales native brand which was established in Swansea in 2018 by Leon Hogan and brother in law Chris Grove, and will create 60 jobs at the new site.

Co-Founder Leon commented: “Gin Ne Sais Quoi has experienced great success at Swansea and the expansion of our brand into Cardiff marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter. After proving to be so popular, we saw there was clearly an opening for our brand and set our sights on St David’s where we are looking forward to showcasing our premium evening experience.”

The addition of Gin Ne Sais Quoi follows the signing of award-winning Thai restaurant Giggling Squid as well as The Ivy Asia at St David’s which will both open their first Welsh restaurants later this year on The Hayes. Meanwhile, Chopstix noodle bar is also set to open this summer, located within the Eastside restaurant quarter of St David’s.

Helen Morgan, Centre Director at St David’s Dewi Sant Cardiff, said: “It’s an exciting time for food and drink at St David’s Cardiff with four new destinations set to open later this year. As an entertainment venue with home-grown Welsh roots, Gin Ne Sais Quoi brings something new to the destination and we’re pleased to welcome them to their new home in the iconic Cardiff Library building.”
