An Aberdare music venue is staging Covaid, an online, streamed concert to raise funds for the Cwm Taf Morgannwg NHS Trust.
Jacs Aberdare has organised eight hours of original music and entertainment on September 5. Most of the artists are local to the Cynon Valley, while others come from the wider Valleys music scene.
The event’s sponsors include digital media business Tantrwm Limited, Penderyn Distillery, Taylormade Facades, and Mountain Ash Embroidery.
The concert is free, but Jacs is asking for donations on Just Giving to the Cwm Taf NHS Trust.
You can watch it by tuning in to the Jacs Facebook page from noon on Saturday: www.facebook.com/jacsaberdare
Donations to Cwm Taf Morgannwg NHS General Charitable Fund can be made here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jacs-aberdare
Rhondda Cynon Taff and Bridgend, the areas covered by the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, have seen more than 330 COVID-19 deaths and hundreds more cases during the pandemic which stretched NHS staff to the limit.
The aim of the charitable trust is to support a wide range of charitable and health-related activities which benefit patients and staff in Rhondda Cynon Taff.
Funds are generally used to purchase a variety of additional goods and services that the NHS is unable to provide.
Tantrwm Limited’s Managing Director Andrew Chainey said: “We’re delighted to be able to support such a worthy cause with our technical assistance including the kit and crew for the live stream plus technical support with robotic cameras and vision mixing.
“We’re urging people to get involved by watching the online festival and helping out with donations. It’s going to be a hugely enjoyable event.”
