The UK regional airline will offer a daily service from the national airport for Wales to the UK’s offshore capital from 11 November 2019.

With 10 flights a week, services will depart Cardiff, Monday-Friday, at 10.20am. Return services on Monday-Thursday leave Aberdeen at 11.55am, and at 10.55am on Fridays.

Services from Cardiff were launched by Eastern Airways in 2006 and the airline also flies from the airport to Anglesey and Newcastle.

Roger Hage, Eastern Airways’ General Manager Commercial and Operations, said: “We are re-establishing a previous air link from Cardiff to Aberdeen aimed at the energy sector and growing leisure market, which will save time compared to lengthy ground transport options.”

Spencer Birns, Chief Commercial Officer at Cardiff Airport added: “It is fantastic to see the return of flights to Aberdeen.  It’s a thriving port city and a link to the offshore industry off the North Sea, not to mention a popular university city and short break destination.

“We welcome the franchise partnership between Eastern Airways and Flybe, which already serves our customers well with flights to Anglesey and Newcastle.  Adding Aberdeen to the network creates more choice for customers seeking to travel within the UK and we look forward to its return on 11 November.”

The Cardiff – Aberdeen flights will operate via Newcastle with on board transit. All flights will be bookable at flybe.com from 8 November.

On board Eastern Airways operated flights, passengers are offered a full range of complimentary drinks and snacks. Regular customers can also benefit from discounted route passes offering savings of up to 40%.
