Cardiff and London based law firm, Capital Law, has bolstered its international legal offering with the appointment of Associate, Céline Jones.

Commercial disputes specialist Céline joins the Capital team during a period of sustained and long-term growth for the company. Jones’ appointment strengthens the firm’s offer to clients who operate internationally.

[aoa id=”1″]Lille native Céline will lead Capital’s French desk following substantial experience gained in international litigation. Able to advise clients in French, English and Spanish, Céline’s main areas of practice will be contract disputes and intellectual property infringement.[/aoa]

Capital comprises of two businesses; a commercial law firm and a people consultancy. The business was founded 13 years ago by three founding partners and has since grown to comprise over 140 staff.

Previously, Céline worked as an associate at Geldards LLP where her clients included Welsh Water, the Admiral Group, Ernst & Young France and Bonna Sabla. In 2017, Céline was appointed Avocat Conseil auprès du Consulat Général et de l’Ambassade de France à Londres, a prestigious legal counsel role to the French Embassy in the UK, and the first award of its kind for a solicitor in Wales.

Céline is also the co-founder and Chair of Le Club – a Franco-Welsh business forum which aims to stimulate networking, partnership development and trading opportunities between organisations with both Welsh and French links.

Elin Pinnell, Managing Partner of Capital, commented on Céline’s appointment: “A large proportion of our clients operate in or have interests in other countries and so I’m delighted to welcome Céline to the Capital team. Her experience of working in Wales, the UK and internationally is a great fit with our team and our clients.”

Céline Jones said: “Capital has developed such an impressive and dynamic portfolio of clients and I’m really excited about the prospect of working with them. I also intend to continue developing the firm’s international profile alongside partner Marlies Hoecherl who leads on Capital’s Brexit advice.”

Corporate lawyer Marlies advises on mergers and acquisitions and has specialist expertise in the energy and food and drink sectors. The fluent German and French speaker has recently been elected Vice Chair of the Advisory Board of Consulegis at the Madrid Conference – a leading international network of independent law firms, of which Capital Law is a member.
