Athena Security Solutions, a London-based elite security company, has successfully completed an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), in a deal advised on GS Verde Group.

Established in 2014, Athena Security Solutions provides elite security services to individuals, businesses, and organisations across all sectors. With a team of highly trained security professionals, the company delivers optimum security solutions, earning a respected reputation for its extensive industry experience and unparalleled efficiency.

Athena Security Solutions is committed to keeping clients safe and secure through its personal service, expertise and outstanding professionalism. The company upholds core values such as commitment and flexibility, striving to be the UK’s most trusted provider of security and safety solutions.

The successful EOT has seen the company’s employees gain a majority stake in the business and an opportunity to channel their enthusiasm in driving the business forward to further success. This transaction marks the beginning of a new phase for the business, with the experienced team continuing to provide excellent customer service.

Newly appointed Director of Athena Security Solutions, Dave Owen, commented on the EOT: “When Lee, the CEO and owner, proposed an EOT, transferring 51% of the company to our employees, I was hesitant, believing it to be almost too good to be true! However, after consulting with both Lee and GS Verde, I became an enthusiastic supporter. Since announcing the EOT to the team, the positive impact has been nothing short of transformative, with a renewed enthusiasm for business development and a genuine commitment from the entire team.”

Lee Horton, Managing Director of Athena Security Solutions, added: “Implementing the Employee Ownership Scheme was the ideal way to express our gratitude to our dedicated staff. I firmly believe that taking care of our team enables them to take exceptional care of our clients. I am incredibly proud of their hard work and commitment.”

Lee also praised GS Verde Group’s role in the transition: “I could not recommend GS Verde Group highly enough. Their one-team approach provided us with all the support we needed, ensuring we chose the best option for our business. We couldn’t be happier with their assistance.”
