A man from St Athan is taking on the Kidney Wales CDF 10K to raise money for the event’s lead charity after being diagnosed with diabetic kidney disease. James Morris, 40, said that for as long as he can remember he’s been overweight which resulted in him developing type 2 diabetes 10 years ago. Cardiff Council is expanding its residential cycle hangar scheme to more neighbourhoods across the city from 20 July, while cutting the annual cost of renting a space by more than half. The yearly charge has been reduced from £120 to £52, making Cardiff’s residential cycle hangar scheme one of the cheapest in the UK. The council’s popular free bus scheme returns from July 25, offering free travel on all service buses operating within the Swansea Council area on weekends throughout the school summer holidays. Pembrokeshire County Council has revoked the premises licence for the Tenby Summer Spectacular after concluding that key licensing objectives were not being adequately met. The decision follows a meeting of the Licensing Sub Committee on Thursday, 9 July, which reviewed the event’s premises licence. After considering all of the evidence presented, the Sub-Committee concluded there were significant concerns regarding crowd safety, emergency access and the protection of children from harm.
