Bishop and Mabuse confirmed for Swansea Arena

Tickets are now on sale for the latest acts to be confirmed by Swansea Arena for their 2022 programme.

Swansea Arena

Comedian John Bishop will take to the stage at the new attraction on March 15, with Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse performing on June 24.

Other acts already announced for the arena include Alice Cooper and The Cult, Katherine Ryan, Rob Brydon and Diversity.

The announcement of the headline opening act for the arena is anticipated in coming weeks.

The 3,500-capacity Swansea Arena, to be run by Ambassador Theatre Group, forms part of the £135m Copr Bay phase one district being developed by Swansea Council, working alongside development manager RivingtonHark.

Led by Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd, construction of Copr Bay phase one will be completed later this year, with the arena opening its doors in early 2022.

Cllr Rob Stewart, Swansea Council Leader, said: “This is yet more exciting news for Swansea Arena, with more acts due to be confirmed in coming weeks, including the headline opening music act.

“Copr Bay construction progress on site continues to make significant progress as completion edges ever closer for a scheme that will be worth hundreds of jobs for local people and £17.1m a year to Swansea’s economy.”

Other Copr Bay phase one features include a 1.1-acre coastal park, a new bridge over Oystermouth Road, new car parking, new homes, and spaces for leisure and hospitality businesses.

The arena forms part of the Swansea City and Waterfront Digital District project which is being part-funded by the £1.3 billion Swansea Bay City Deal.
