13th November 2023, CARDIFF: Cardiff-based AI firm AMPLYFI hosted the Secretary of State for Wales David TC Davies MP on the 31st October, just days before the first major global AI Safety Summit at Bletchley Park.
Mr Davies met with the AMPLYFI team, led by CEO Paul Teather, on their R&D strengths and how they are contributing to the UK Government’s priorities for AI.
As part of the visit, the Secretary of State learnt about the real-world applications of AMPLYFI’s AI market intelligence platform, and how customers such as the Centre for Security and Emerging Technology (CSET), LifeArc and the US Department of Energy Office of Scientific and Technical Information are benefitting from AI.
Welsh Secretary David TC Davies said, “I was delighted to visit AMPLYFI and hear about their success as a market-leader in Artificial Intelligence. AI is a key technology for the UK’s future and it’s fantastic to see a growing cyber and data cluster right here in South Wales.”
“The UK Government is proud to invest in the Cardiff Capital Region which is helping companies like AMPLYFI expand and prosper, creating highly specialised and well paid jobs in Cardiff and the surrounding areas.”
Paul Teather, CEO of AMPLYFI, added, “It was a pleasure hosting the Secretary of State at our office and sharing with him the exciting technological developments that we are at the helm of. I’m incredibly proud of the work we do here at AMPLYFI, helping knowledge workers to overcome the challenge of information overload and apply that insight to drive innovation across industries. For the Secretary of State to be so engaged in our mission has been an honour, and we welcome the focus on AI that the Government is putting”.
The firm, based in Cardiff’s Central Square, has previously received significant funding from the Cardiff Capital Region, backed by the UK Government.
