Cardiff Peninsula Corporation appointed as master developer for Cardiff Peninsula

Cardiff Peninsula Consortium is very excited to have been appointed by Cardiff Council as master developer for Cardiff Peninsula, the large vacant site adjacent to the International Sports Village.

Richard Olsen, Chief Executive of Orion Land and Leisure, the owners of the Consortium, said:

“The Peninsula is a truly unique place.  How many other European capital cities have such a significant underdeveloped site surrounded by water?  The forthcoming development must be exceptional.

“We are hugely honoured to be given the responsibility of finally completing the redevelopment of The Peninsula and for the faith put into us by Cardiff Council to deliver for local residents and businesses as well as the whole of Cardiff.

“There have of course been many false dawns for this site.  But the time to finally deliver is now and we commit to delivering for the city of Cardiff.  We will work closely with local residents and businesses on the site, our near neighbours and of course Cardiff Council elected members and officers to ensure that the new development will be an exemplar, a showcase for 21st century Cardiff.

“We will work hard to seamlessly integrate the existing developments and users of the site, including the International Sports Village with its many and varied sporting venues, with new buildings, a mix of residential, retail, commercial and leisure uses with excellent, landscaped public space.”

Cardiff Peninsula Consortium will be communicating with local residents and businesses in the coming days and weeks to begin the conversation about how the site should be developed culminating in a number of potential planning applications in 2024 and start on site thereafter.
