Cardiff teen jailed after police seize cocaine and cash in Grangetown

Kamil Ernest

A Cardiff drug dealer caught with cocaine and cash has been jailed.

Kamil Ernest, 19, of Grangetown, Cardiff wasn’t at his family home in Fairwater when police officers turned up unannounced on July 9.

But officers located him in a nearby park where they searched him and found hundreds of pounds in cash and wraps of crack cocaine.

Ernest was carrying a mobile phone which seized by officers and found to contain evidence of bulk messaging linked to the supply of cocaine and heroin.

Ernest pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and possessing crack cocaine with intent to supply and on Tuesday, October 8, he appeared at Cardiff Crown Court where he was jailed for 28 months.

Ernest was one of 25 people arrested throughout July (2024) by the Cardiff and Vale Organised Crime Team. During the crackdown, a quarter of a kilogram of crack cocaine and £17,000 in cash was seized. A total of 21 drugs lines were also put out of business.
