The annual Welsh language festival, Ffiliffest, will be heading to Caerphilly Castle this month.

Menter Caerffili have organised this event to celebrate and support the use of Welsh language and traditions in the community.

This action packed day, in cooperation with CADW, promises to include an array of attractions for all ages. Activities include live music, entertainment, food and drink, a video gaming area and a new beach area.

Entertainment will be varied with folk dancing, community performances and brilliant live performances from Martyn Geraint, Allan yn y Fan, Y Sybs, Ragsy, Nantgarw, Mabli Tudur and John Nicholas.

This fun filled family event will take place on Saturday 9th June and is free for all to attend.
The day’s entertainment will begin from 11am to 1pm and will then continue with live music from 2pm to 5pm.  For the first time this year Ffiliffest will also be extended to include live music in the evening, starting at 7pm in the castle.

Lowri Catrin Jones, Chief Officer of Menter Caerffili said,

“We are really looking forward to welcoming people to Ffiliffest this year. The hard work and dedication put into the festival to promote the Welsh language is always outstanding and Caerphilly Castle creates a brilliant setting for the event. We are excited to encourage people to get involved and unite visitors with our Welsh traditions.”
