In March 2020, CHAPTER was due to host the UK premiere of documentary film Amber and Me, but when the pandemic hit its release was delayed.

CHAPTER is delighted to now be able to offer the film via their online streaming platform, the Chapter Player.

Amber and Me is a feature-length documentary film that follows a young girl, Amber, who has Down’s Syndrome, as she begins mainstream education with her twin sister, Olivia.

Although Amber’s first school experience is positive, she soon starts to lose interest and asks to stay at home. Sister Olivia tries to help Amber with her school work, in the knowledge that if the situation doesn’t improve, Amber may have to go to a different school.

The film follows the challenges for both girls through four years of primary school and charts the changes in their relationship, uniquely from their own perspectives.

Amber and Me is directed by their father Ian Davies, who has worked on several documentaries as a producer. This film is his directorial debut.

Amber and Me’s digital release is on World Down Syndrome Day, Sunday 21 March.

There will also be an exclusive Q&A with director Ian Davies, hosted on the Chapter Player. More panellists are to be confirmed and details will be announced soon.

The film is available to purchase on the Chapter Player for £5.99, from 21 March: www.chapter.vhx.tv/products
