City business bosses invited to attend free Brexit briefing

Swansea businesses have the opportunity to get the most up-to-date details on how to keep prospering through Brexit.

A breakfast briefing on March 20 will outline the support available to businesses from key agencies.

It is being staged by the Welsh Government’s Business Wales in partnership with Swansea Council’s economic development team.

Speakers will include Business Wales development manager Erica Morgan.

Council leader Rob Stewart said: “I urge local business people to attend this very worthwhile free event – it will present the best advice possible at this time.

“Alongside our regional partners, the Welsh Government and the UK Government, the council is preparing for Britain to leave the European Union.”

Council cabinet member for investment, regeneration and tourism Robert Francis-Davies said: “We’re working with the Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA) and others to ensure there is a collective and consistent approach across Welsh local government in responding to Brexit.

“A number of useful websites already provide useful official information about Brexit.”

Erica Morgan, of Business Wales, said: “This seminar will offer the most up-to-date position on Brexit.

“Topics will include the Business Wales online Brexit Portal, support available from the Welsh Government, support available from other key agencies such as the Development Bank of Wales and an overview of what we know and don’t know about Brexit.

“There will be valuable networking opportunities.”
