City gym relaunches as CF11 Fitness after major investment

A city leisure centre gym has been given a facelift, thanks to a major investment from Cardiff Council.

The fitness facilities at Channel View Leisure Centre in Grangetown have been overhauled to create a brand new, state-of-the-art facility for the community.

Boasting the latest TechoGym equipment with over 85 work stations – many with unrivalled views across the River Taff, the new suite has been enlarged and relaunched as CF11 Fitness.

The £800,000 investment has also included renovation work to the changing rooms, toilets and reception to create a fresh and bright environment throughout the upgraded areas.

Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, Cllr Peter Bradbury, said:

“CF11 Fitness is now a fantastic facility that can rival any other gym in the city, with afantastic range of cardio-vascular, resistance and functional exercise equipment. All machines have the latest technology allowing members to track and monitor the activities they do at the gym or outdoors through an app.

“It’s well worth a visit and I’m sure people familiar with the gym and ground floor areas before the renovations will be pleasantly surprised by the transformation.”

The improvements at Channel View have also seen the introduction of a female-only gym and new group exercise classes, adding to the already extensive timetable. At the heart of the local community, the centre also boasts indoorand outdoor 3G football pitches whilefriendly staff and a team of qualified fitness instructors are on hand to guide members through a gym induction to or to show anyone interested in the facilities around.

To mark the relaunch of the gym, CF11 Fitness is offering a special introductory offer for new members of only £11 for the first month and £20 a month after that. There is no joining fee or extended contract and membership includes gym access and all fitness classes.

Cllr Bradbury added:

“The Council is committed to bringing exercise and training to all ages and abilities across the city. I’m delighted with the new facilities at Channel View and the fact that the new membership provides real value for money for people in the city.”
