Lawyers at national law firm Clarke Willmott LLP have advised South Wales-based Tai Calon Community Housing on a £105 million long-term debt refinancing with NatWest Group.
The social housing provider, which is based in Blaina, says the new funding ushers in a new era of growth that means it can embark on a full-scale development programme to construct new affordable homes for those in need across the county of Blaenau Gwent.
It allows Tai Calon to access a level of funding flexibility to support its future development plans. Until now, the organisation had been limited to more modest development schemes.
Tai Calon was advised by Fraser MacRae, partner, and Charlotte Lord, senior associate, from Clarke Willmott’s social housing team in Cardiff. The team is one of the largest in the UK and acts for over 100 registered providers as well as major frameworks including HALA, CHIC, SEC and ASW.
Martyn Price, director of resources at Tai Calon, added: I would like to thank Fraser and his team at Clarke Willmott for their support and advice throughout the refinancing project, which will now enable Tai Calon to commence a development programme of new affordable homes for those in need within the county of Blaenau Gwent.”
Fraser MacRae added: “We were pleased to be asked to support Tai Calon on this important project, which will ultimately support the development of much needed housing in South Wales.”
