Coffee Barker is expanding to the heart of Mumbles, with a new cafe located on the busy Mumbles high street opposite Joe’s ice cream and other retailers in the village.

The sister business of Gin & Juice Mumbles, Coffee Barker will be an espresso-bar cafe with comfy leather seating for around a dozen customers inside. Outside an additional 30 Parisian-style seats sit under giant awnings with heaters to create a relaxed, continental atmosphere.

Coffee Barker will open on Wednesday, 28 September and to welcome new customers, on the opening day, everyone can claim a free sit-in or takeaway coffee.

Coffee Barker will be open every day from 8am to 4pm serving its signature Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance, Organic house roasted coffee. The menu will feature handmade cakes and rustic soup with beers and wine available too. To encourage people to bring their reusable cups for takeaway coffees, a discount of 10% is offered.

Founder of Coffee Barker, Stephen Barker, said:

“We’re excited to bring our unique brand of Coffee Barker hospitality to Mumbles. We have a great location in the heart of Mumbles village.

“Between the coffee bar and its street terrace, we have created great spaces for people to stop in for a quick coffee while they’re out and about or sit outside and watch the world go by. And the terrace is on the sunny side of the street, so it gets the sun all day when the weather’s good – but we’ve also got huge awnings so our outside seating can be used all year round under the heaters. It’s also perfect for a continental glass of wine or a beer in the afternoon. And we are 100% dog friendly too”

“This is our third business on this site, alongside Gin & Juice and our newly opened rooftop restaurant, The Grill. Mumbles is a great place to do business, we really believe in the quality of this beautiful location and we’re looking forward to serving all of the dog-walkers, commuters, locals and visitors who will pass Coffee Barker every day,” he said.

Coffee Barker is at 3 Mumbles Road and will open seven days a week from 8 am – 4 pm.
