Conference will look at how tech can influence business success

Industry experts and business leaders will be addressing these questions, and many more, at the Emerging Tech Fest, a business-to-business conference and exhibition which is being held in the Catrin Finch Centre at Wrexham Glyndŵr University, from 9am until 6pm on Thursday, December 13.

The main stage speakers will include Ashley Rogers,  chair of North Wales Mersey Dee Business Council and member of the North Wales Economic Ambition Board and its digital connectivity delivery group, who will talk about the role of innovation and new technology in achieving economic growth in North Wales; Debra Williams, Co-founder & CEO, Motokiki, whose talk is entitled ‘Disruptor models – knowing enough to be dangerous!’, and Anthony Rose, Co-founder & CEO of SeedLegals – also known as ‘The man behind BBC iPlayer’ – who will explain how to go from an idea, to a funded business, and to a product that your customers love.

They will be joined by David Ramsay Harra, Head of Innovation & Development at Airbus manufacturing and assembly sites across Europe; and Joanne Phoenix, who has led the ecosystem development at the Liverpool headquartered Sensor City since June 2016.

The event will also have an interactive exhibition – including a dozen or more ‘lightning talks’ on the expo stage – plus ‘Meet the Buyer’ sessions with Airbus and the Defence and Security Accelerator and ‘Meet the Expert’ sessions, between 11am and noon and 2pm and 3pm, with 10 organisations that can provide [business growth, R&D, innovation and funding] advice and support to attendees looking to take their business to the next level.

The event has been organised by The Centre of Excellence in Mobile and Emerging Technologies (CEMET), Innovation Point, Innovate UK, Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN), The ESTnet, and Airbus Endeavr. Supporting partners of the event are C-STEM and S2 Recruitment.

A spokesperson for the Emerging Tech Fest said:

“As the New Year approaches, businesses are encouraged to take time out to reflect on what has gone well in 2018, consider the lessons learnt and explore what actions your business will need to take to make 2019 even more successful.

“Join over 200 like-minded people for a full-day of thought-provoking talks, interactive sessions, lively discussions and hands-on demos to gain valuable insights into how emerging technologies are impacting on you, your business, your industry and your supply chain.”
