Cwmbran accountant receives special recognition for outstanding exam results

An accountant from a Cwmbran firm has been given the Emma Linton Memorial Award in recognition of her outstanding exam results.
Kate Fearns, of Green & Co Accountants and Tax Advisors, received the prestigious award from the University of South Wales in Newport, after her impressive ACCA exam results. This is the fifth time an employee of the firm has received a special award in the space of five years.
Speaking on behalf of the firm, Partner Barrie Kenyon said:
“Once again we are thrilled that a member of our team has been recognised by the ACCA. Kate has been with us since 2014 and has become an integral part of our ever-growing team. Her commitment to her career development has paid off and we couldn’t be more pleased.”
Kate, who is an Accounts Senior at Green & Co, received the award for getting excellent marks in the P Level paper and was incredibly proud to receive the recognition, especially given the special meaning behind the award.
Kate said: “I am incredibly surprised and honoured to receive such a special award. Emma Linton was a student who sadly passed away before she could complete all her exams. The university asked her parents if they could make her a part of the graduation ceremony by giving an award in her name.  It is a privilege to receive such recognition in her memory and I am now looking forward to progressing my career in accountancy and seeing what the future holds.”
The award follows the recent news that the firm was named as Medium Practice of the Year, beating competition from across the whole of the UK.
