DEXL, part of The APC delivery network – the largest independent parcel delivery network in the UK – has announced further investment into its Cardiff site. This investment comes following continued growth for the business, spurred by the strength of its SME customers and the ongoing demand for parcel services.

The investment in the 5,000 sq. ft. site, one of three DEXL depots within The APC Network, combines with DEXL’s portfolio of over 37,000 sq. ft. of space. This will allow the business to expand on its Overnight parcel collection and delivery service offerings to local businesses across South Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and Wales.

The delivery firm continues to service a growing range of SME customers across the CF, DN and SK postcode areas. With a workforce of approximately 94 employees across the three sites – with all employees local to their area – DEXL is committed to providing dedicated, local customer service teams, building strong relationships with its customers across each region.

Aaron Cullumbine, Commercial Director at DEXL said: “Local customer service has always been paramount to DEXL and The APC network. The APC network represents something different; allowing our customers to deliver nationwide, without losing the local customer service and support, which is so critical for many SME businesses. Our investment in the Cardiff site allows us to continue building on this ethos, helping local businesses across the region as they build for the future, providing them with fantastic service options and a dedicated local workforce.”

The Cardiff depot is part of DEXL’s ongoing investment into the future of its business. Alongside the investment in the site, DEXL has also introduced three new HGVs and seven electric vehicles, including company cars and electric vans, with plans to increase this number in the future as a core pillar of its business strategy; cementing its commitment to sustainability and modernisation in the logistics industry.

Aaron Cullumbine continued: “We continue to invest in the future of our business to ensure we are always providing the best possible service for our customers and can support their growth longer-term. As part of this we are working closely with our customers in our efforts to reduce our impact on the environment and to understand their sustainability goals, whilst continuing to provide a seamless and excellent delivery experience.”

DEXL has also invested in new branded uniforms for Customer Services, Operations teams, and Drivers to bring together a unified corporate look and make sure there is a consistent, professional image across the board.

Jonathan Smith, Chief Executive at The APC, said: “DEXL is a great example of a business within our network that is investing for the future; enabling it to navigate the continued evolution of our industry and the needs of SME customers. The Cardiff site and the investment into EVs will ensure customers continue to get improved, more efficient and more sustainable service options and I am confident that the commitment and entrepreneurialism that comes from the people within DEXL, will ensure our customers continue to be served well now and in the future.”
