Leading South Wales taxi and private hire firm Dragon Taxis is supporting Whitchurch Heath Cricket Club as its match ball sponsor for the 2023 season.

Whitchurch Heath has four Senior league sides and a thriving youth section that runs teams at ages under nine, 11, 13 and 15. They are dedicated to playing competitive cricket in a welcoming, inclusive and social atmosphere in the North Cardiff suburb.

Dragon Taxis, a regional brand of the UK’s fastest-growing taxi and private hire technology platform Veezu, is sponsoring the club for the second year and is helping with financial support to fund day-to-day expenses such as ground maintenance and equipment.

They stepped in to donate to the local cause through their new community support programme ‘Funded by Veezu’. The programme is a way in which local not-for-profit initiatives can receive grants and support.

Peter Bryon, Whitchurch Heath Chair, said: “We’re so grateful for the support of Dragon Taxis this season. We are investing in our clubhouse and our training facilities and are developing opportunities for all in the local community. We could not do that with the support we get from local businesses such as Dragon Taxis.”

Giles Mosely, Business Development Manager at Dragon Taxis, said: “We’re very happy to be able to continue our sponsorship of Whitchurch Heath Cricket Club this season, through our Funded by Veezu programme. Supporting our local community is of paramount importance to us at Dragon, and we can’t wait to watch the players in action again this summer.”
