But one rail specialist company rode to the rescue to ensure a swift solution to a landslip on a railway line near Tonypandy in South Wales that could have caused long-term delays and commuter chaos.

Drainage and civil engineering specialists Scott Parnell arranged for a same-day delivery of essential materials required to repair the landslip and allow stock to get moving again. The delivery was made from Scott Parnell’s Hirwaun branch in Rhondda Cynnon Taff, South Wales.

Scott Parnell’s rail division holds an extensive range of trackside drainage products, and having forged strong relationships with all major suppliers of rain construction products, was in the ideal position to act quickly to help resolve the landslip incident.

“When emergencies occur on the railways it’s essential that everyone acts promptly to prevent serious delays and commuter chaos.,” said Leanne Horrigan, Director at Scott Parnell Wales.

“Our Hirwaun branch was able to respond to the emergency by supplying materials on the same day as the damage occurred. We’ve worked hard to forge strong relationships within the industry and we’re very proud to be able to offer thisservice to our clients.”

Scott Parnell holds the rail industry accreditation RISQS (Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme), which formally recognises the company as capable providers of products and services.
